The strand annealing line runs 24 hours per day, allowing us to meet the shortest of deadlines. Drawing: Multiple drawing machines can take the annealed wire to smaller sizes. Illini Wire Mill dies are made onsite in our modern laboratory; custom sizes are always welcomed. We manufacture 1/8 hard, ¼ hard, ½ hard, ¾ hard, or spring temper (full hard). The more the wire is drawn, the harder it becomes. Precoating: We can coat annealed wire or HRAP rod so that it will hold a soap lubricant when the wire or rod is drawn, especially prior to cold heading. You can have your material sent to us and we will “dip it and ship it” as you need it. Straighten and Cut: Your material or ours is straightened and cut up to 12-foot lengths. Our multiple straighten and cut machines straighten .062”- .250” diameter bars for applications including free machining bars, antenna whips, and everything in between. Repackaging: We can spool your wire, or provide coil splitting for you. Toll Processing: You can send your material to us to convert it to a size specific to your needs. We can draw, anneal, dip, repackage, straighten and cut, as needed. Stocking Programs: Have the mill send your material to us - we will stock, process, and release as needed.
